A couple of months back, in a sermon, I spoke about how the early church shared resources and helped those in their church family who were needy. In that context, I mentioned our Pastoral Emergency Fund. This is something that St Paul’s have operated for some years to provide specific emergency financial help to members of our own congregation. Over the years, the fund has helped with food, clothes, utility bills, car repairs, bus fares to church, travel for asylum interviews, a new washing machine, and a multitude of other things. We don’t generally give cash, or give on an ongoing basis, but seek to help with a particular emergency need. This fund is available to regular members of the congregation of St Paul’s and St Stephen’s and is given at the discretion of the Leadership Team.
If you made a pledge to give to this fund, or would like to, you have two ways of doing this:
1. Place cash or a cheque in the special ‘Pastoral Emergency Fund’ envelopes and church.
2. Pay directly into the church bank account by bank transfer or regular standing order, using the reference ‘PEF’.
